Age Group 36 to 50 years old.

During the age of 36 to 50 this is the stage in your life when you take peak family and career responsibilities.  Your body is also beginning to change and it will take some time before you go into peri-menopause and then menopause.

Bleeding Issues.

Symptoms often presented in this age group are heavy bleeding, excessive bleeding, irregular bleeding etc.  The commonest cause of abnormal bleeding in this group is called dysfunctional uterine bleeding.  The exact cause of this is not known, but it is related to an hormonal imbalance.

Fibroids.

Another group of symptoms could include some swelling of the stomach.  The most common cause of this is fibroids of the uterus.  Fibroids are a benign growth of the smooth muscles of the uterus.  They are very common and many women will have very few symptoms if any at all.

Ovarian Cysts.

Ovarian cysts should be taken seriously because some of them could be malignant and they grow very quickly.  If an ovarian cyst is suspected, patient should be seen by gynaecologist as soon as possible for further investigations.
